Many animals have been domesticated in [[Seasonstruck]]. Most were given to them as gifts by [[The Starverse|Starversians]] or other world travelers. # Strucken Wool Dogs [[Seasonstrucken|The Strucken]] have their own breeds of dogs. The most famous ones are Strucken Wool Dogs, which are used in textile production instead of an animal like sheep. They are a (usally) white spitz-like-breed with a straight tail and are a large-sized dog. They are the primary source of wool in [[Seasonstruck]]. The [[The Witches Guild]] and witches in general, in particular tend to wear wool sweaters with designs tied to their magic specialties or just general interests on them. [[Seasonstrucken|The Strucken]] treasure dogs and do their best to protect them and love them. Wool Dogs in particular are kept as pets in textile crafters' homes. They are often running about in towns, but are usually trained to come to their owners, even from afar, with verbal calls of their names. Collars with leather tags are often put on them to show who owns which dog. In Summer and overall hotter times, they are sheared to make sure they don't overheat. Rumors have it that they are (possibly direct) descendants of the extinct [Salish Wool Dogs](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Salish_Wool_Dog), but no one can confirm it. Rarely, they gain the magical ability to talk if the bond with their owner(s) is strong enough. # Strucken Horse-dogs Strucken Horse-dogs are a breed of giant, fluffy dogs used for travel, both for fun and for work. As the [[Seasonstrucken|strucken]] are rather short, they were given dogs to ride instead of a larger animal. Their colors can be about anything, as there is several colors in their standard (though, the strucken don't really have a standardization for dog breeds, such as a Kennel Club). Horse-dogs can also be used for combat, often attacking others for the strucken riding it alongside the strucken using magic to attack and assist. # Strucken Domestic Silkmoth Domestic Strucken Silkmoths, or Strucken Silkmoths or SDS for short, is one of two bugs that were domesticated. Unlike our own Domestic Silkmoths, DSD are a species created from two moth species; Luna Moths and Rosy Maple Moths. No one knows how they came to be, but the moths have been in [[Seasonstruck]] for years. Similarly to our Silkmoths, SDS have a weaker, less stable ability to fly, but not complete loss. They're also in many colors, depending on the breeder. Some SDS breeders also try to raise them as pets (despite the very short lifespan of Silkmoths) and, similar to some reptiles, DSD have morphs. Using [[Seasonstruck's Magic|magic]], the moths can live longer and even gain mouths if cared for enough. Normally, silkmoths here do not have mouths once they become moths, and its true for SDS's, but the magic from love for them as a pet could help them live much, much longer and in rare cases, give them ability to speak. But it usually doesn't happen as silkmoths don't live that long. [[Seasonstrucken|Strucken]] Parents often give their children SDS's to raise as a way to teach them responsibility and how use [[Seasonstruck's Magic|magic]] to form a bond and help out creatures. SDS's are used for the production of silk, which is extremely commons for clothes that are more light-weight and breathable. Especially popular in [[Summershell]], where its rather hot most times of the year. # Domestic Firefly Unlike us, [[Seasonstrucken|The Strucken]] have *two* domestic insects! Domestic Fireflies are raised by Strucken to provide light and as pets (or, rather, decoration). No one knows who gave them Domestic Fireflies, but they treasure them. Larvae are fed worms and other small bugs, while the adults are given pollen harvested through [[Seasonstruck's Magic|magic]]. Similar to Strucken Domestic Silkmoths, Domestic Fireflies can live longer lives if the strucken love their fireflies enough. They also can grow bonds and learn to speak the more magic the firefly has. Domestic Fireflies also have morphs, much like SDS's, but it only really effects it's glow color. Domestic Fireflies can glow just about any color, depending on the line they come from. They are called "glow-colors." Regular Fireflies have gone practically extinct, replaced by released Domestic Fireflies. Though, their colors tend to default to the classic yellow-green glow in the wild (from them breeding with different glow-colors. They do not mix like pigments. Similar to goldfish/Prussian carp in the wild regaining their wild colors if released and breeding for long enough).
